Larry Lozell Nunn, 73, of Rock Island, passed away Friday, March 4, 2022, at his home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Larry was born on March 11, 1948, in Moline, Illinois, the son of Albert and Ellen Nunn. He married Lorraine Meredith on September 30, 2006, at Duck Creek Park. He was a U.S. Veteran, having served with the Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a Flight Standardization Engineer with the Iowa National Guard. Larry was a member of Heritage Church in Rock Island, Veterans of Foreign War, and Past Commander of the Rock Island V.F.W., past member of the V.F.W. Council and Past 8th District Commander. Larry's hobbies included trains, sitting by the water, and traveling. He loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events, school functions, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; children, Krista Sloan, Jason (Sarah) Nunn, Audra(Fletcher) Ford, and Ashley (Chad) Jacks; grandchildren, Nick Krebs, Miranda Sloan, Stephen (Heather) Sloan, Trevor, Carson and Maddox Nunn, Cammeron, Ashlyn, Logan, Isabella, Carter Ford, Colby Zank, Andrew and Emily Jacks; great grandchildren, Elsie and Kalvin Krebs, Lily Bessert, Parker Sloan; a special nephew, Jim (Julie) Fanning; siblings, David (Jody) Nunn, Richard Nunn, and Mike (Mary Jo) McCleary.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Jack Nunn, Mary Kay Fanning, Robert Nunn, and Terry McCleary.
